Hold On Tight! "Supacell" Season 2 Is Officially Happening
The second season of the British sci-fi series "Supacell" is officially in the works, as creator Rapman (Andrew Onwubolu) announced yesterday. Following the show's premiere on Netflix in June, fans are eagerly awaiting the return of this thrilling series.
"Supacell" follows the journey of five South Londoners who suddenly develop extraordinary abilities like superhuman strength, speed, teleportation, premonitions, and flight. These individuals are united by Michael Lasaki as they band together to save the woman he loves, Dionne.
In an exclusive interview with BellaNaija, Rapman, the series' writer, executive producer, and lead director, shared the inspiration behind "Supacell." He explained, "I created ‘Supacell’ to inspire and raise awareness about sickle cell. I never understood a disease that predominantly hurts Black people. So I said, let me do something. Instead of making us weak, let me do something to make us strong."
The cast includes Tosin Cole, Adelayo Adedayo, Calvin Demba, Nadine Mills, Eric Kofi-Abrefa, Josh Tedeku, Eddie Marsan, Rayxia Ojo, Michael Salami, and Ky-mani Carty, bringing together a talented ensemble to portray this powerful story.
As fans gear up for the next chapter of "Supacell," anticipation is building to see how these characters evolve and the impact of their newfound abilities on their community and themselves. Keep an eye out for more updates on this groundbreaking series!
